Coming This Fall: She Rises

Letting Go…

There is a moment in midlife when we look around and realize we have been carrying far too much. Too many responsibilities, expectations, old stories, and clutter – both the kind that fills our homes and the kind that fills our heads.  Somewhere along the way, we became keepers of everything: memories, mistakes, roles, relationships and “shoulds.”

But here’s the quiet truth: midlife isn’t asking us to hold more.  It’s inviting us to release.  Letting go is not giving up.  It’s growing up – spiritually, emotionally. And soulfully.  It’s choosing peace over perfection, presence over performance.

There is an art to releasing what no longer fits.  We begin to notice that certain things no longer fit or feel comfortable in our lives.  And it is not just external things like clothes, some activities or interests.  It is our identities.  The career that once defined us may no longer inspire us.  Friendships that thrived on gossip or comparison now feel heavy.  Even some of our ambitions can start to feel outdated.

Letting go means allowing those pieces to fall away with grace.  It’s trusting that what’s meant for this next season of life won’t require you to shrink or strain to keep it.  Yes, it can feel uncomfortable at first.  The ego whispers, “But who will I be without this?”  The answer is simple and powerful:  You’ll be more you.

Letting go is an act of courage.  It’s standing in the “in-between” – that space where the old has fallen away but the new hasn’t yet arrived – and choosing not to rush back to the familiar.  That pause, uncomfortable as it is, is where the magic happens.  It’s where clarity begins to form.  It’s where we hear the quiet voice that’s been buried under all the noise.

When you release what no longer serves you, you create room row what will.  You begin to notice possibilities you couldn’t see before.  You find yourself lighter, more curious, and surprisingly hopeful.

The rewards of letting go aren’t always immediate – but they are always profound.  You will discover:

Freedom:  From roles that were never truly yours.

Peace: From battles that no longer need to be fought.

Energy: To pursue what genuinely lights you up.

Joy: In the simple, quiet moments of being rather than doing.

Midlife isn’t a crisis; it’s a clearing of the forest to give you space. The invitation is not to add more but to release what weighs you down.  To let go of who you thought you had to be so you can become who you truly are.  Letting go is not the end of something…it’s the beginning of everything that has been waiting to unfold.  One step at a time.

I am loving this journey because I am living deliberately, creatively and not by compulsion or duty.  I am choosing!
